Bring You Home — Route Guide

Medical Escort Flights to India: Direct Routes from the US, UK, Canada & Australia

A simple guide to flying your parent or relative home to India in business class, with a doctor or nurse by their side. See which Indian cities have direct flights, which need one stop, and how to book — from anywhere in the world.

Bring You Home — Safe Fly Aviation's business class medical escort service to India

Bring You Home: business class medical escort flights to India, worldwide.

Do you have a parent or relative in the US, UK, Canada, or Australia who needs to come home to India for medical care? Bring You Home can help. A trained doctor or nurse flies with them, in a comfortable business class seat, on a normal airline flight — the same flights already running on your route. We take care of everything, from pickup abroad to drop-off at home in India.

In short: if your relative can sit up during takeoff and landing, and does not need a stretcher or breathing machine, this service is almost always the best choice. It is faster to arrange and costs far less than a private air ambulance jet.

Business class cabin seating on the wide-body aircraft used for Bring You Home medical escort flights
This is what we do: a comfortable business class seat, with a doctor or nurse right beside your relative, the whole way.
Stretcher configuration inside an air ambulance cabin, used for ICU-level patient transfers rather than a business class medical escort
This is NOT what we do: a stretcher or ICU transfer. If your relative needs this instead, see who needs a full air ambulance.

Which Indian cities actually get a direct flight

Not every city in India has a direct flight from abroad. This matters when planning the trip. To make it simple, we sort Indian cities into three easy groups:

Airbus A330 wide-body aircraft, the type of aircraft typically used for direct nonstop flights to Delhi, Mumbai, or Bengaluru Group 1 — Direct flight

Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru

Direct flights land here from most major cities in the US, Canada, UK, and Australia. Most trips go through one of these three cities first.

Emirates Airbus A350, an example of the Gulf-carrier connection used to reach Chennai, Hyderabad, or Kolkata Group 2 — One stop

Chennai, Hyderabad, Kolkata

These cities need one stop along the way — often through Dubai, Doha, or another Gulf city, or through Delhi, Mumbai, or Bengaluru first.

Boeing 737 MAX, the narrow-body aircraft typically used for the short domestic connecting flight to Amritsar, Chandigarh, Lucknow, or Bhopal Group 3 — Connecting flight

Amritsar, Chandigarh, Lucknow, Bhopal

These cities need a short flight inside India after landing at a bigger airport. (Amritsar is a little different — it also has a few direct flights from the UK. More on that below.)

This is why our escort service helps so much: your relative is never left alone to find their next flight. The same doctor or nurse — and our ground staff — stay with them all the way, including for the connecting flight inside India.

From the USA

More than 4 million people of Indian origin live in the US — this is our busiest route. Most are elderly parents who went to be with their children, and now need to come home for care, to recover from surgery, or simply to be close to family again.

Example nonstop routes, USA to India
FromToExample carriers
New York (JFK) / Newark (EWR)Delhi, MumbaiAir India, United
Chicago (ORD)DelhiAir India
San Francisco (SFO)Delhi, BengaluruAir India, United

Correct as of October 2026. Flight days can change with the season, so we always confirm the exact schedule before booking. From any of these cities, we also arrange the next flight to Amritsar, Chandigarh, Lucknow, Bhopal, Chennai, Hyderabad, or Kolkata — the same escort stays with your relative the whole way.

From Canada

Most Indian families in Canada live near Toronto, Vancouver, or Calgary. Air India has added many more flights on this route over the last two years.

Example nonstop routes, Canada to India
FromToExample carriers
Toronto (YYZ)DelhiAir India (up to 10x weekly, winter 2026)
Toronto (YYZ)MumbaiAir India (seasonal, 3x weekly, Oct 2026–Mar 2027)
Vancouver (YVR)DelhiAir India (7x weekly)

Correct as of October 2026. The Toronto–Mumbai flight only runs in winter, and schedules on this route have changed more than once this year, so we always check the live schedule before booking. We often connect onward to Amritsar and Chandigarh from here, as well as Lucknow, Bhopal, Chennai, Hyderabad, and Kolkata.

From the UK

The UK has one of the biggest and oldest Indian communities in the world, especially from Punjab and Gujarat. Because of this, the UK is the one place where a smaller Indian city — Amritsar — also gets its own direct flight.

Example nonstop routes, UK to India
FromToExample carriers
London (Heathrow)Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad, AhmedabadAir India, British Airways, Virgin Atlantic
London (Heathrow)AmritsarAir India (weekly)
BirminghamAmritsarAir India (weekly, Fri outbound / Sat–Sun return)

Correct as of October 2026, including the weekly Birmingham–Amritsar flight — this flight has stopped and restarted before, so please ask our desk to confirm it before you plan around it. If a patient is going to Punjab, this direct flight can save a whole connection. Otherwise, from London we connect onward to Chandigarh, Lucknow, Bhopal, and Kolkata.

From Australia

The number of Indian families in Australia has almost doubled in the last 10 years, mostly around Sydney and Melbourne. Two airlines, Air India and Qantas, now fly this route directly.

Example nonstop routes, Australia to India
FromToExample carriers
SydneyDelhiAir India
SydneyBengaluruQantas (5x weekly)
MelbourneDelhiAir India, Qantas (Qantas seasonal)

Correct as of October 2026. The Qantas Melbourne–Delhi flight only runs part of the year and has been paused before, so we always check it's running before booking around it. From Sydney, Melbourne, or Bengaluru, we connect on to Chennai, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Lucknow, Bhopal, Amritsar, or Chandigarh.

India to abroad — it works both ways

This service also works the other way. If someone in India needs to fly to the US, UK, Canada, or Australia — for medical treatment, or to live with family after an illness — we can arrange the same business-class escort for that trip too. Everything works the same way. It just starts in India instead of ending there.

How it works, in 4 simple steps

Step 1

Check the patient

Send us the patient's medical reports. Our doctors check if they are fit to fly — usually within a few hours.

Step 2

Get airline approval

We fill out the airline's medical form (called a MEDIF) and get their OK for the patient to fly.

Step 3

Book the flight

We assign a doctor or nurse, and book business class seats on the best available flight.

Step 4

Travel door to door

An ambulance or wheelchair helps at both airports — including for any flight inside India.
